This twin lens camera uses the latest AHD technology. This offers improved resolution, truer colours and improved night vision. They represent a big change in the technology of reversing camera systems. The twin lens is designed to have one camera pointing down for reversing and one looking back down the road for continuous rear view. One drawback of AHD camera is there is a slight flicker when travelling at speed. This is down to the way the picture is built on the screen. The improvement in picture quality more than compensates for this in our view.
The photographs of the monitor in use were taken of the actual screen displaying the image rather than recording to SD card. The night view one was taken down an unlit lane. AHD gives a much better night vision performance than conventional CVBS cameras. The photograph below demonstrates this as it actually gave colour on a well lit road.
AHD cameras can only be used with monitors capable of dislaying an AHD signal
